Over the past 2 years or so I have really upped my game when it comes to hair care. Previously I would use shampoo and conditioner, give my hair a blow dry and that was it! (Yup, i didn't even use heat protectant).
One day however something clicked and I realised that maybe I need to take better care of my hair before it all either falls out from dyeing it within an inch of its life, or snaps off from (multiple) protection free heat exposures.
Below is my current routine along with the products I am currently loving!
SHAMPOO/ CONDITIONER.
My current favourite shampoo and conditioner duo are the 'HERBAL ESSENCES RASPBERRY & MINT DAILY DETOX CLEAN'. My hair feels instantly refreshed after every use and always smells amazing! You only need to use a small amount of each product (yes this includes the conditioner!) which typically means that I don't tend to run out of one before they other! Another bonus is the price. For example the duo (sold separately) is currently on offer with 'Superdrug' for £1.98 each (400ml bottle) which is super affordable and totally worth it. (At time of writing). I have absolutely no complaints about this product and doubt you will to!
WEEKLY HAIR MASK. Now i'm not going to lie, I used to think that using a hair mask once week was silly and that it would do no more than my conditioner would do. Boy was I wrong. My current go-to product is the 'GARNIER MARVELLOUS TRANSFORMER MOISTURE BALM WITH ARGAN OIL AND CAMELLIA OILS'. I use a small heaped amount (usually 3 fingers in the tub) and work it through my hair from the roots to the ends. The non greasy product is so easy to work with however I will say the tub is a little awkward to use in the shower, easily solved though if you unscrew the lid slightly before turning it on! I will then leave this in for 5 mins (if i'm in the shower), 15 mins (if i'm in the bath) or 30 mins (if i'm just treating my hair that day). My hair always feels nourished and super soft making me want to run my fingers through it all day! The product smells gorgeous and because i'm only using once a week, it really lasts which of course is an added bonus!
Currently retailing for approx £4.99 at 'Boots' (300ml), means thats this product won't break the bank! (At the time of writing).
HEAT PROTECTANT.
Currently, I am using the 'Schwarzkopf got2b Mind Blowing Xpress dry spray.' After not really ever using a heat protectant I became a little lost in the shop when trying to decide and a product. The 'Xpress dry spray' was actually recommended to me by a friend whos hairdresser used it on them. I simply spray evenly onto my damp/ towel dried hair, brush through and go! Its so simple and easy to use, smells great and does exactly what it says on the tin. I have heard reviews of this product claiming it to leave hair feeling 'tacky' and 'unmanageable', I however, have not had this issue.
This affordable product is currently retailing for £4.19 (200ml) at 'Superdrug'. (At the time of writing).
Hair Oil. My current go to hair oil is without a doubt the 'Mark Hill MiracOILicious Moroccan Argan Oil.' The product conditions, nourishes and rehydrates my hair leaving it frizz free every time! I will rub a drop of the oil into the palms of my hands and work it through the ends of my hair, (the product is super-concentrated, you really do only need to use a small amount-perfect!) The product also smells gorgeous! Currently retailing for £8.49 (50ml) from 'Mark Hill' themselves, the product is slightly more pricier then other mentioned in the post. However to me, it is well worth the price! (At the time of writing).
So there you go! Those were my current hair care favourites! Be sure to let me know if you have tried any of these products yourself and what you thought of them!
